Woman Made DIY Art Using A Stick Her Dog Fell In Love With And Made Him Cry
In addition to food, hugs, and cuddling with his beloved person, every dog’s favorite activity is holding something in his teeth and biting it mercilessly. In this seemingly trivial process, the dog in some way even becomes emotionally close to the object.
This is especially true of Labrador Retrievers who always seem to have something in their teeth. It was exactly like that one day when a Lab and his mom found a stick while they were walking.
This dog quickly fell in love with that stick and was convinced that it was his property from that moment on. Unfortunately for him, his mom had other plans with it, which brought this dog to the verge of tears.
She Hurt His Feelings
In addition to taking her Labrador Retriever, Basil, for a walk that day, his owner, Anna, also intended to find a stick for her unique artwork.
“The art was an early attempt at making a macramé wall hanging, made using special macramé string and a stick I found in the woods close to where I live,” Anna told Newsweek. “I decided I wanted to use natural wood to hang the string from for this wall hanging, so, while walking Basil one morning, I found and picked up this stick.”
Anna was happy that she managed to find a good stick, but it didn’t occur to her that Basil had his eye on it, too. When she realized that her dog fell in love with the stick and even became obsessed with it, she had to hide it under her jacket so he wouldn’t pinch it.
However, she didn’t achieve much because Basil’s obsession continued when they got home. While she was making a macramé wall hanging on the table, Basil was whining all the time and trying to reach his beloved stick.
Anna still managed to fend off all his attempts and finally finish her DIY art. She thought that this was it and that Basil would soon forget about everything. Unfortunately, she couldn’t have been more wrong.
“While I was in the other room, I could hear him whining, and went to see what the commotion was. And there he was, sitting in the bathroom pining over the stick in the wall hanging I had just put up,” she said.
It was a truly unique moment and Anna couldn’t resist recording it and posting the video on her TikTok profile, @basilionbrush.
@basilionbrush I made a wall hanging with a stick I found on Basil’s dog walk. Basil loves this stick and thinks it’s his. Basil has been crying at the wall hanging for 20 minutes. #labrador #labradorretriever #labradorsoftiktok ♬ original sound – BasilionBrush

Many People Reacted
This interesting video attracted a lot of attention among TikTok users and there were many reactions.
Some people found this whole situation funny, while others even criticized the owner herself for not giving the stick to her dog.
“this needs the “mom what are you doing with my stuff” sound,” the popular @weratedogs account wrote.
“To be fair, if it’s a stick found on Basils walk, then it’s technically Basils stick.. So give it back!! 😂,” some random user added.
And the third demanded justice for Basil, stating: “Petition to give basil his stick back.”
This was actually the first video that Anna posted on TikTok, and it has already gone viral. She was more than delighted with that.
“I thought it might bring someone a bit of joy in their day,” she said. “I didn’t expect so many people to see the video or interact with it—it was nice to see that other people liked to see what a little character Basil is!”
