I have to admit, reading about Nona’s story left me really heartbroken. I just can’t imagine what this puppy must have gone through so early on in life.

She has spent her life living with a family who couldn’t treat her and she was a very sickly dog who desperately needed medical help.

Even though her family couldn’t afford it, they didn’t think about giving her to someone else until a kind person stepped in and decided to intervene.

Nona’s Rehabilitation

When Prue, from Mission Pawsible, first saw Nona lying in the dirt in the middle of the street, she was surprised by her condition.

The puppy looked like she was suffering from some kind of a skin disease but Prue didn’t know what exactly it was.

She told The Dodo: “I noticed her on the street and that her skin was getting progressively worse, so I had to make the decision to step in.”

Prue learned that Nona had a family, so she went and talked to them about getting this puppy some medical help.

When they learned that this rescuer was willing to help the puppy, they simply surrendered her, as it would at least give her some chance.

The first thing she did after taking the puppy into the shelter was give her a medical bath to help get rid of all the fleas and dirt.

Nona looked a bit confused as she didn’t understand why she was there, but the constant affection from her rescuer helped her relax for a little while.

Prue noted just how much her spirit had changed after she started recovering. She said: “She was such a quirky little dog. She loved to sleep in random positions.”

She Is A Very Quirky Dog

While she was in her foster care, she got to socialize a lot with other dogs and this helped her immensely in learning how to behave, play, and just enjoy herself all the time.

After some time had passed, Nona’s skin treatment started working and she had made a spectacular recovery in a short amount of time.

Prue introduced sliding doors to help her dogs move around the house. Because Nona is such a clever girl, she learned how to use them pretty fast.

This also allowed her to prepare a little surprise for Nona. She said: “So I hid in the toy room and I knew that she’d open the door. And I was sitting there with all her brand-new toys and she went straight for the toys.”

When talking about what kind of family best suited Nona, she said it would be best for her to find someone who enjoys her quirkiness and sense of humor.

She is a cheerful dog who can be a bit naughty sometimes but is otherwise a very lovable and special pup. 

While we don’t know what happens next in Nona’s story, it’s safe to assume that Prue is working hard to make sure she finds someone truly amazing.
