Pup Who Was Abandoned By Owner Because Of A Serious Illness Refused To Give Up On Her Life
When a woman noticed an unknown pup walking up and down the street, she immediately knew that somebody cruelly abandoned it.
Deciding to approach it, the woman knew that something wasn’t right!
The pup had a nosebleed and extremely red eyes that wouldn’t stop tearing up. Knowing that she had no time to waste, the kind hooman got the pup in her car and drove her to the local vet in order to determine what was wrong.
Finally Safe
As soon as the vet team met this pup, now named Nora, they knew her case was serious.
After some tests, the vets found that she had leishmaniasis, a disease caused by a parasite that spreads primarily through the bites of infected female sandflies.
Since there still isn’t a vaccine that can cure this disease, the treatment is difficult and long.
The disease caused Nora issues with multiple organs, leaving her in extreme pain.
The doctors immediately put her on the necessary medications, which did help her feel a bit better – her eyes weren’t as red anymore, and she managed to have a yummy meal, but seeing her in such a situation really broke her rescuer’s heart.
Long Road To Recovery
Since she had no energy, Nora spent her days trying to sleep the pain away, hoping for a miracle.
The entire vet staff had their fingers crossed, waiting for this adorable lady to wake up one day and start running around their clinic, showing off her strength and happiness.
And that’s exactly what happened!
After two long years filled with hardships, pain, and a lot of medication, Nora managed to beat this awful disease!
She is now happily running around, showing her hoomans that you should never give up on life.
Her new favorite activities include swimming and playing with her furry siblings, as well as cuddling with her hoomans.
Never Give Up
Stories like this completely melt my heart.
Seeing a pup overcome such great hardships reminds me that everything really is possible if we put our minds to it.
Thank you, Nora, for never giving up. You are a true inspiration!
However, I would like to take this opportunity to let all dog owners know that if your puppy falls ill and you are not able to afford their medication, please don’t turn your back on them.
The world is full of incredible hoomans who are more than happy to help you and your furry friend out.
All you need to do is go to your local shelter or rescue organization and ask them for a helping hand. I am sure that the kind staff will do everything they can to get your pup back on its paws in no time.
Remember: they deserve at least that!
