After receiving information about an adorable Pit Bull who had been abandoned at a shipping yard, a Los Angeles non-profit animal rescue group called Hope for Paws decided to investigate.

When they arrived at the location, they found out that the shipping yard workers were taking care of the pup and feeding him every day, which led them to develop a very special bond.

Because of this, the rescuers, Alex Babcock and Katie McKittrick, were able to put a leash around the pup’s head without any difficulties.

The rescuers checked to see if the pup was microchipped immediately. Since no chip was found, they took him straight to their Los Angeles rescue.

When they arrived, the pup, now named Mack, received a thorough examination as well as a much-needed bath.

When his results came back, it was determined that the pup had an enlarged prostate, which is a common occurrence with male pups who haven’t been neutered and were living in unsanitary conditions.

Luckily, the determined rescue was able to nurse this amazing boy back to health in no time by neutering and vaccinating him and placing him in a loving foster home, where he healed back into a happy pup!

Now, all that is left to do is find Mack a warm forever home that will allow him to forget his dark past and focus on the incredible and happy memories that life has in store for him.

Good luck, Mack!

Debunking the myth

Unfortunately, there are many misconceptions that make people believe that Pit Bulls are an inherently aggressive breed.

According to a study by Lisa Gunter, when a pup is labeled a Pit Bull, their chances of being adopted drop significantly.

But contrary to popular belief, Pit Bulls are not aggressive at all. In fact, aggression isn’t even a breed-specific trait, it is actually the result of various factors in a dog’s upbringing, which include mistreatment, lack of socialization, or even poor breeding.

So, if you know a Pit Bull who is more aggressive, there is probably a good reason why.

A Pit Bull is actually a very loyal, loving dog who is full of affection and happiness. There is nothing they love more than bringing a smile to their two-legged friends.

So, stating and believing that they are an aggressive breed is nothing more than an unfair and unfounded stereotype that needs to be debunked ASAP!
