Man Adopted A Dachshund To Be More Motivated To ‘Go Out’ But His Plans Were Different
If there is one trait that humans share sometimes, it’s procrastination. Often, we feel like we should be doing something or going somewhere, but it doesn’t happen.
We try to find some form of a motivator to be more active and stop spending time doing things we don’t like.
For some people, the fix is as simple as doing something and forcing yourself to be more disciplined.
In other cases, people will adopt a dog to have a reason to go out more. That was the case for Loki’s owner when he took him in.
A Failed Plan
When Loki first came into his owner’s life, the man had hoped that this would help him go out more often, as dogs often need mental stimulation.
This generally means that they love taking walks, and going once every day can be a really good thing for both them and the owner.
However, Loki’s new dad did not quite anticipate what would happen next. When the pup finally settled in, his plans were spoiled.
Loki spent most of his days just lying around and had no interest in doing anything. His favorite activity is usually lying in the bed and taking naps with his dad.
While that doesn’t sound bad to most of us, it has slightly altered the plans of Loki’s owner who was hoping to be more active.
Regardless, this sweet pup will still change his dad’s life in many ways that he can’t imagine, and that is already apparent.
A Funny Reaction To His Dog
Loki’s owner realized just how hilarious the entire situation was and decided to post a clip about it on his TikTok.
In it, he wrote: “The dog I got to motivate me into being more active. Even less motivated now.”
I have to admit it is pretty great to see this, as it perfectly illustrates just how life can be intentionally comical when we are trying to make changes.
One person in the comments wrote: “So accurate! My phone pics are all sleeping ones.”
Okay, so it’s not just Loki who enjoys taking long naps. It’s good to see there are other people who find the situation relatable.
Another person said: “Wrong dog. They are sleepy babies and love snuggling in the sheets! I love mine.”
It’s absolutely hilarious to know that Loki’s dad could have ended up with another, more active dog but got him instead. Jokes aside, they are perfect for each other.
While it is pretty important for all dogs, Dachshunds included, to get their rest, it’s also crucial that they go out on walks and enjoy themselves.
This way, they can meet new friends, which would possibly lead to playdates with other dogs, and that is always great.
I have no doubt that Loki loves his new dad and I do believe that the two of them will go on many amazing adventures together.
