Today, Darcie enjoys the comfort of a super king bed in the peaceful countryside, a stark contrast to her past. In August, Kobe posted a TikTok video that captured Darcie’s incredible transformation, which quickly went viral. The video begins with footage of Darcie lying on her bed while Kobe gently pets her, with a caption noting how Darcie was “too shy to even move” during her first two weeks in her new home. The video then transitions to show Darcie as she is now—full of life, talkative, and eager for attention.

Kobe described Darcie as a “chatterbox” and shared with Newsweek via email the profound change in Darcie’s behavior. “When we first got her, she wouldn’t play, run, bark, or even eat on her own,” Kobe explained. “She was so shy, unsure, and scared. But with time, love, and patience, we’ve watched her blossom.”

Adapting to her new surroundings wasn’t easy for Darcie, especially with her initial fear of loud noises. However, as her confidence grew, so did her personality. Kobe also shared how clever Darcie is, noting that she even learned English. “Her recall could use some work since she’s easily distracted by squirrels,” Kobe added with a laugh. “But she’s the softest, cuddliest dog, and she trusts us completely.”

For the Cheung family, Darcie has become an indispensable part of their lives. “We’re absolutely wrapped around her little paws,” Kobe said. “We never imagined we could love a rescue dog as much as one raised from a puppy, but Darcie has changed our perspective entirely.”
