Dogs are creatures that always strive to create new friendships. Maybe sometimes that’s not exactly the case when it comes to relationships with their canine fellows, but it is surely a fact when it comes to humans.

The most beautiful thing is that dogs do not look at skin color, financial status, or social status. It is only important for them that the person is benevolent, full of love, and always ready to caress and hug them. 

For this reason, dogs sometimes form unexpected friendships in very specific locations. One Rottweiler’s relationship with a neighbor surprised even her parents.

Friendship That Lasts

Emma has lived with her parents, Sammi and Mick, in their high-rise apartment since she was a puppy. This now four-year-old Rottweiler mostly enjoys being on the balcony near the barrier that separates their balcony from their neighbors. 

This nice doggo has a very good reason for that, and it is the neighbor himself. Namely, Emma, ​​even when she was a puppy, took it upon herself to make friends with her neighbor. 

So every time she saw his shadow, she would get excited and immediately approach the balcony barrier until she was greeted by a hand that appeared on the other side and started petting her. It even surprised her parents. 

“As a puppy, she would sniff and try to look through the balcony barriers often,” Mick told Newsweek. “When Em was a few months old, we noticed Em right by the barriers getting pets from the neighbors. Made sure they were OK with Em asking for pets and not being annoying. They welcomed Em’s approaches.”

In addition to the friendship established by Emma and her neighbor, another beautiful thing happened – Emma’s parents and that same neighbor, who had not known each other until that moment, also started to hang out. 

Both of these friendships lasted a very long time, and in honor of that, Emma’s parents decided to release a TikTok video a few years after that event. 

This video was also a kind of farewell to a long-time friend who recently moved out of that apartment. But not to worry; instead of him came his brother, who continued his streak of petting Emma, so the balcony remained this dog’s favorite place. 

“Thank you for being Emma’s best friend 🥰🤍 We’re so luck to have such kind people around us 🤍” Emma’s parents wrote in the caption of the video. 

Amazing Reactions

Sammi and Mick knew that this video would attract a lot of attention, but even they could not have dreamed that it would be to this extent. 

There were numerous reactions, and we highlighted some of the comments. 

“The way I’d never leave that apartment 🥹,” one user wrote. 

“He probably told his brother ‘U only get to move in,if U promise to give Emma ALL the love!’. 💜💜” another added. 

And the third quipped: “I would also be the neighbour patting the baby 🥰 more than once a day too 🤣 you’d see my hand under waving to see if pups near by 🤣🤣❤”

After these heartwarming scenes, we would all love to pet Emma or any other dog on the other side of the balcony. 

Yet, Mick concludes in the end: “Em definitely loves getting attention from humans in general, but not everyone. Not sure what her criteria is, but this secret friendship with the neighbor is definitely a special bond.”
