For six years, Rex has been his parents’ only baby and the center of their world. They showered him with love and lavished him with attention.

When Rex’s parents welcomed their first child, Samuel, into the world, they were worried whether their sweet German Shepherd would like him.

After the couple brought Samuel home, they eagerly waited to see Rex’s reaction. As soon as his parents put the carrier down, Rex rushed to investigate it.

The giant German Shepherd couldn’t imagine that his world was about to change.

Meeting Samuel

When the doggo laid his eyes on his newborn baby brother, his heart instantly became overflowing with tenderness and love.

Rex gently sniffed the baby’s face.

“He then put his nose right next to Samuel’s face and we knew right then and there that Rex was in love,” Rex’s mom told Cuddle Buddies.

From that day on, he started treating Samuel like he was his own child. 

The adorable dog was always guarding his baby brother and he never let him out of his sight. They became inseparable.

Every night, Rex would lie next to his crib, watching over him and making sure he was safe.

“I’ve never seen a dog be so gentle and protective of a baby before,” the doggo’s mom added.

Samuel was enchanted with Rex, too. The baby melted with love whenever the doggo licked his face. The two friends loved cuddling together. 

When Samuel started walking, Rex was overjoyed. 

The canine knew that he could play with his little human more than before. The sweet duo began spending more time outdoors and they enjoyed exploring the garden together. 

Rex and Samuel’s Deep Bond

Samuel and Rex’s relationship became even stronger and the two best friends can’t picture their lives without each other. 

Rex’s forever mom admires the magical bond that Rex has with Samuel. She can’t wait to see how their relationship will evolve over the years.

“I had so many worries about how their relationship would turn out but their bond is something out of a fairy tale. Every day I see them together my heart just explodes with joy and I can’t wait to see what the coming years bring,” she said.

Although Rex has his own pups, Chloe and Phillip, who live with him, it is his relationship with Samuel that makes his life complete.

The sweet German Shepherd has never been happier. 

The two best friends often post updates about their life and their adventures on their Instagram account. They enjoy playing in the kiddy pool and spending time in the garden.
