Feral Puppies Terrified Of People Finally Embrace Their Rescuers When They Realize They Are Safe
For any dog, living a life of uncertainty can be a tough thing. It’s even more difficult for puppies who have little to no protection from outside threats.
Many are forced to live their life separated from their mom in environments that are not safe or comfortable for anyone.
But, that’s the hand they were dealt and they are forced to make the best of it. For these adorable puppies, things were not going so well and they really needed help.
However, a big problem was that they were feral and genuinely terrified of other people, so approaching them was not easy for anyone.
A Tough Rescue
When the rescuers from Happy Doggo received information about seven puppies who were living near a construction area, they gathered immediately and went to find them.
Because construction was imminent, the kind people had to get them away from this area as it was even more unsafe now.
The big problem was just getting them to calm down long enough to secure them. Because they were so afraid of humans, this was going to be a challenge.
One of the rescuers, Niall, tried with food first. Given how hungry they were, they went for it and the rescuers tried grabbing one of them.
He immediately started crying for help, not realizing that these people were there to save him. The others reacted the same way and it made the rescue effort really difficult.
After three hours, all of them were secured and the rescuers placed them inside a kennel. They took them back to the shelter where they planned on finding them a home soon.
While in their care, the rescuers found out that five of the seven puppies managed to relax around other humans and were becoming a lot more playful.
This was good news as Niall and the other staff were able to find a forever home for all five of them in no time. However, the last two were not the same.
They Have Changed So Much
They were still terrified of other people and helping them was not going to be easy. One of the rescuers kept trying every day, giving them food and just waiting.
With time, they started moving closer to her, and they soon realized that she was not a threat but a friend. The puppies would start wagging their tails whenever their favorite rescuer was around.
They introduced them to other dogs, so they could get used to being around them, and they had some company now.
This meant that they were making good progress, so the rescuers decided to place a leash on them and try to take them on small walks.
The two dogs, Lina and Sophie, made such incredible progress in a short amount of time. Their rescuers couldn’t be happier for them.
They were very playful and always enjoyed spending time with the people who saved them. A good relationship with other humans was a very good sign.
This also meant that there was a good chance their rescuers could find them a forever home soon, so they were placed on an adoption list.
And just like that, they found their perfect family. Niall and the other staff helped move them into their forever home and they are now living their best life.
