One horrifying thing about abandoned animals is that a lot of them are left in a location where they would not have much of a chance of survival.

It was no different for this sweet pooch. No one really knows how she ended up in a big field in the middle of nowhere, but she desperately needed help.

Luckily for her, a kind rescuer named Kelly noticed her and decided to do her best to give her a new chance.

She Was So Frightened

When Kelly found the pup near a field in Texas, she immediately stopped her car and tried to approach it. The very next moment, she noticed just how scared the pup was.

So, she kept her distance from the pooch to not scare her off completely. Kelly tried to give her some food, but her efforts failed.

The dog just would not take the bait. She looked so sad and scared that Kelly just couldn’t sit back and do nothing.

It was at this point that she knew that they had to trap the dog somehow because there was no way she would willingly accept their help. Kelly told The Dodo: “I think we’re gonna have to trap her. We left and came back later.”

They left and came back later. In the field, they placed a humane trap and just waited. The hungry pup went inside, and the plan worked.

Kelly was over the moon about this. She rushed to the trap and tried to calm the scared pup down. 

The next moment, she realized just how scared the dog was. Kelly would place a leash on her, and the pup would be completely frozen.

This shocked her rescuer. The poor dog didn’t know what to do, so she just stood in place. Kelly then took her in her arms and placed her in the car.

Sissy Helped Her New Friend

After that, they just went back to their home in Texas. Because Kelly and her partner run an animal sanctuary, they believed being near other pups would help her deal with her fear.

There was just one problem, though. She had to give her up because she just didn’t have room for another dog.

But when she felt the pup’s hug and warmth, it was like she was begging Kelly to stay with her family.

So, the kind rescuers decided to take her in. In their care, she had transformed completely. The dog, now named Sissy, is just enjoying her life with her new parents.

Thanks to their help, she had overcome her fears and had even made a new friend. Doug was a completely different dog.

He had a severe case of PTSD. Doug would just never leave his room, and it impacted his life in a negative way. It had been that way until he met Sissy.

Being such a sweet dog, she helped Doug deal with his problems, and he managed to leave the house for the first time in a long time because of her.

Kelly is so proud of both of them for making such amazing progress and for helping each other out in their time of need. She is glad that they are such good friends.

In the end, she said: “I 100% believe that there’s no coincidence here. She’s given us so much more than we can give her.”
