Sweet Pup Who Spent 355 Days In Shelter Learned How To Sit So That He Could Be Adopted
As much as the kind hoomans at animal shelters try to make their institutions calm and happy, their residents may not always feel this way.
Many animals that stay there longer than they anticipated tend to feel heartbroken that nobody picked them to be their new best friend. Because of this, some tend to hide in a corner of their kennel, and others are so stressed that they start spinning in circles.
However, there are those who refuse to give up hope and do everything they can to be noticed!
A Very Good Boy
When a pup by the name of Santo arrived at the Animal House Shelter, a non-profit shelter based in Huntley, Illinois, he was the happiest pup around.
Since he had recently escaped euthanasia, Santo was super excited at the fact that he was about to begin a new life with loving hoomans.
Unfortunately, things didn’t really go as he had planned.
A long 355 days had passed, and Santo still remained in his kennel, constantly being passed by potential adopters. But despite such hardships, this boy refused to give up!
In a video posted by the Illinois shelter’s TikTok account, Santo is seen on his best behavior, patiently sitting down and showing everybody what a good boy he is.
The caption of the video explained Santo’s situation: “Meet Santo! He has been waiting for his forever family for 355 days. He is a 3-year-old collie/greyhound mix that is good with other dogs and older kids! He is very energetic and would thrive with training. Come meet this sweet boy at the Animal House Shelter in Huntley, Illinois.”
Take Me Home, Please
The video quickly went viral on social media, melting people’s hearts and showing them just how resilient this pup is.
The staff hopes that they will soon receive a phone call from a kind hooman who is willing to offer this sweet baby a loving home.
“Santo would love an active family. He would do best with adults and older children. He loves to play and is super affectionate! He also gets along great with other dogs so wouldn’t mind a doggy brother or sister!” a spokesperson for Animal House Shelter told Newsweek.
Santo is also a dog who is full of love. He will constantly shower you with love and adoration, making you feel like the best owner in the whole wide world.
All he needs is a chance to prove himself.
