Remember the last time you saw a senior not complaining about something? Me neither! 

Oh, wait, except for Poe!

That’s right.

Instead of being all moody and cranky, this incredible Pittie girl has discovered the fountain of youth! And, not only that, at twenty years of age, she has the most beautiful smile in the world, and I bet you’ll agree with me in a heartbeat.

I mean, twenty years old! Twenty. Years. Old! For a dog, and still smiling like a pup. Just wow!

Poe Beats All The Odds

For Jill, the owner of three rescue dogs, from Chicago, having Poe has always been a blessing. When she was adopted ten years ago, this Pittie was in really bad shape. In fact, she seemed so down that Jill didn’t expect her to have her for more than a year.

But, Poe soon proved everybody wrong!

Not only did she recover in record time, but this resilient girl started to feel like never before. 

In no time, her face was decorated with the most hauntingly cute smile Jill has ever seen in a dog. Being so happy to finally find the right home and the right hoomans, Poe just couldn’t take it off anymore. Ever!

Together with her family and two amazing doggo siblings, Finn and Penny, she rediscovered the joy of life. 

“Rescuing Poe was obviously one of the best things I could have done. She’s just my best friend. She’s this little beacon of light and hope,” Jill told The Dodo.

Poe just loved accompanying her momma on her 5 AM commutes on working days, and was always first waiting by the door. And, on the weekends, she lived a totally different life – with grandma and grandpa!

Poe couldn’t be more thrilled to sit in her grandpa’s golf cart every time she visited and have the best ride ever. She loved every single thing about her grandparents. But she loved the golf cart rides the most!

There’s not a single person who didn’t fall in love with this Pittie girl right off the bat. She’s just always been a lover, and had the most beautiful way with people.

And, next to her dog siblings, Poe always acted like a caring momma. She showered them with kisses, made sure that they were protected, and mothered them in the cutest way possible.

Her Memory Lives On

Sadly, after ten wonderful years in her Chicago home, Poe’s life journey came to an end. 

Her entire family was devastated to lose the dog that was such a big part of their lives, but they were consoled by the fact that Poe had the best life possible. She crossed the rainbow bridge as happy as she could possibly be. And, that’s the most rewarding thing for her hoomans.

“Words escape me when it comes to describing this beautiful bundle of perfection. Forever grateful I shared 10 years with her,” Jill wrote in an Instagram post.

Poe’s memory will continue to live on. Jill keeps on posting wonderful memories with her sweet girl on her Instagram, The Rescued Commuters, captivating thousands of hearts all over the internet.

Looking behind, she couldn’t be more grateful for sharing all those precious moments together.

“So grateful Poe and I found each other. She had such an impact on me. I’m forever thankful for her,” Jill wrote on Instagram.

Even though Poe is gone, her heartwarming smile continues to bring joy to people, which is undoubtedly what she would have wanted!
