Although there is often no better solution, dogs do not belong in shelters. This is especially true when those same shelters have become increasingly crowded and unconditioned.

Just as a sick person’s only wish is to get well, a shelter dog only wishes someone to open his kennel and take him to a forever home. 

Unfortunately, many canines have to spend a long period of their lives between the four walls of their kennel before that happy moment happens, and some never even see it.

One pup who spent a huge part of her life in a shelter in Phoenix, Arizona, and experienced many disappointments there has already started to lose hope that she will ever experience that true happiness. 

Yet, just when she thought everything was over, a miracle happened, and her reaction showed how much it meant to her. 

Heart-Melting Reaction

Desert Dog Project, a shelter located in Phoenix, Arizona, has long provided a roof over the heads of many canines and given them hope for a happy ending. 

Since they have a TikTok account, @desertdogproject, they have posted many heartwarming videos that have attracted a huge number of dog lovers. 

However, the TikTok video released on June 1, 2024, exceeded all expectations, but given its heart-melting content, it’s no wonder.

Namely, the video features an excited dog behind the bars of her kennel who cannot control her emotions. A text layered over the video reveals the background of the story. 

“POV: When you’re a shelter dog and someone finally notices you…” it is written. 

After spending so much time in the shelter, any dog ​​would be extremely happy to finally be adopted. However, this dog’s furious tail wagging when she realizes that someone is coming to open her kennel door surpasses all previous reactions. 

The culmination of her delight comes when her future favorite human comes close to the kennel. Then, except for her tail, her whole body starts to move, as if she is greeting her future family and her new home with a special dance of happiness.

She knows that this is just the beginning of a new life filled with love.

Just like all these good people, we are over the moon for this dog as well. However, we should not forget that there are 850 dogs in their shelters alone who are also longing for furever homes.

This is exactly why we hope that it will not end only with nice words but that this heartwarming scene will inspire other people to do the same good deed for these helpless beings.
