Abused Dog Who Lived His Life On A Chain Finally Gets A Chance To Enjoy Her Life
I’ve seen all sorts of neglect and abuse being inflicted on dogs, but there is nothing more infuriating than seeing people who do this on purpose.
When people adopt a pup, you normally wouldn’t expect anyone to treat them like that. The dog has really never done anything wrong to deserve it.
This sweet pup was suffering the same fate because of his owner. He was driving the truck and dragging her on the chain the whole time. The poor pup was struggling to keep up.
Such a sight horrified everyone who saw it and they immediately called for the local authorities to deal with it.
She Was Finally Saved
As soon as the authorities arrived on the scene, the dog, Charli, was taken from its owner and placed in a shelter.
The staff noted that she was a very timid dog, but she was also really gentle. She enjoyed being in the presence of other people, as evidenced by her tail wagging.
This, however, doesn’t mean that she trusts everyone as she is usually very reluctant when meeting new people.
I just don’t understand how her owner could put her through something so horrible. She didn’t deserve that.
The shelter workers didn’t think it was quite safe for her to stay in Texas, so they contacted Austin Pets Alive! for help.
Because they have a very efficient transportation system, they can help many dogs in need and transfer them to a place where they can receive help quickly.
This also means that they can help out around 3,000 animals per year and that is just absolutely amazing.
Charli Remains Hopeful
When all of the paperwork was sorted out and it was time for the dog to leave, she was really scared.
She couldn’t really trust anyone there as the abuse had taken its toll on her..
The rescuers from Austin Pets Alive tried calming her down, and she eased up a bit. She was taken into the vehicle with the other dogs, and they were on their way to a new life.
The rescuers wrote on their Instagram post: “Right now, in a transport van with 25 other dogs on their way to Chicago, Charli is starting a new journey to find someone who loves her.“
Everyone is very hopeful that she will find someone truly special who will cherish every moment with her.
Given what she has been through, she needs someone particularly gentle who will help her overcome her trauma.
I am so glad to see that there are people in this world who help dogs like Charli, who have gone through a lot and need a new start. I wish them all the best.
