Spending his entire life tied up in a dirty backyard in San Antonio, Texas, had left Homelander, the pup of today’s story, extremely depressed.

On top of these horrific living conditions, Homelander was involved in a car accident that left him severely injured, with fractures in his hips and legs. For months, he stayed in such a condition without receiving medical attention, desperately searching for a kind human willing to help him.

Finally, a loving woman heard his cries and contacted animal services, informing them of the situation. The moment rescuers noticed his eyes filled with pain and sorrow, they knew he needed an enormous change in his life.

Road To Recovery

Being thoroughly examined and prescribed the required medical treatment in a San Antonio shelter, Homelander was scheduled for surgery that would help his bones heal much faster.

The surgery was a success, allowing this special boy to finally begin his recovery journey.

Luckily, being surrounded by incredible hoomans and adorable furry friends, the staff assumed that he would regain his full strength in no time!

The regular physical therapy appointments, which also included swimming in a pool, helped Homelander get back on his paws in record-breaking time!

“After several weeks of acupuncture and laser therapy, Homelander is back on his feet! He has a slight gimp but manages well and is happy as can be, he runs and plays as if none of this horrific incident happened,” stated Rocky Kanaka.

Since he still needed further care to be able to run around and play with other doggos again, his hoomans decided to provide him with some extra love and attention.

Even though he encountered some difficult days, the incredible hoomans of this Texan rescue made sure Homelander pulled through all of them!

New Life

After a long year of therapy, Homelander made a full recovery.

Seeing him back on his paws made every person working on his care tear up with joy. Finally, this handsome and loving pup is ready to lead a happy life on his own.

“He’s been incredibly quiet, respectful, loving, and mellow. He has seen other cats and dogs and treats them with respect, giving them their space. He does not fear new people or passers by. He adapts quickly and is resilient…He’s ALL LOVE!” he added.

Luckily, his hoomans weren’t the only ones who saw how loving this boy was.

Homelander’s story reached a loving family who decided to provide him with a loving home where he could forget all about his hardships and begin his new life full of love and adventures.

What happened to Homelander is unacceptable. No dog deserves to live such a hard life.
