When The Woman Opened The Laundry Machine, She Was Greeted By Two Tiny Eyes Staring At Her
Experienced animal rescuer, Karenlynn Stracher, from Long Island, is already used to various situations in her long-term rescue career. So she was ready one morning when she was woken up by a call from a woman who asked for her help.
It was very early in the morning when she got the call and it took her a few moments to wake up from a deep sleep. However, when she heard that the police had told this woman to call her, she was quickly on her feet and on her way to the specified location.
Namely, there was a surprise waiting for her hidden deep inside a laundry machine.
“A First Time For Everything”
When this rescuer from Long Island arrived at that place, the laundry machine was already opened and an old lady was impatiently waiting for her.
As soon as she looked inside, she was greeted by two tiny black eyes – it was a little possum stuck in the machine. Although she had already had the opportunity to find and rescue many animals, Karenlynn herself was surprised by this specific situation.
“There’s a first time for everything,” she wrote in a TikTok video about the rescue.
Yet, Karenlynn quickly regained her composure and started the rescue operation. She took a towel, and after a little difficulty, managed to grab the little possum with it and take her out of the machine.
The little animal was so terrified that she froze, but this experienced rescuer knew it was a passing phase and that the most important thing was that she was now in safe hands.
Karenlynn recorded this rescue mission and shared the video with her TikTok followers via her account @wildliferehab_kl.

Soon Where She Belongs
Since the possum was playing peek-a-boo with Karenlynn from the washing machine, and since she was a baby girl, Karenlynn decided to name her Peekaboo, at the insistence of the old lady.
This woman even took some pictures of Peekaboo and sent them to her granddaughter, joking that it would be a gift for her great-grandson’s upcoming christening.
However, this possum did not end up in a decorative box, but instead, Karenlynn took her home to her rehabilitation center. She will be there until she recovers and is old enough to be returned to the wild. Karenlynn believes that she will soon be where she belongs.
“She’s with me and thriving,” Karenlynn told The Dodo. “She’s quite feral, which is a good thing. It will serve her well when she is big enough to be released.”
