Man Leaves Crate At Shelter’s Driveway, What Workers Find In It Minutes Later Is Shocking
Every day, the shelters are fuller and fuller of animals that are not lucky enough to enjoy a warm home. But, what is most worrying is the decreasing empathy of people toward these helpless creatures.
Among many such stories, one that unfolded near the RSPCA’s Coventry Animal Center has caught the attention of the public. On that day, the employees of the center noticed that some unknown person threw out a carrier in the middle of the shelter’s driveway.
They couldn’t see who it was because the person first hid behind a tree and then ran away after they came out. However, what they could see was a little family inside that abandoned carrier.
Sweet Little Family
The shelter employees were quite angry and disappointed because of the act of this man. But, when they saw the cute little cat family inside the carrier, they immediately softened.
Unfortunately, their happiness was very short-lived as they saw that these three kittens and their mother were in poor condition. They were covered in fleas, and they desperately needed TLC. But, even that wasn’t the worst thing, but the fact that the shelter was already overcrowded.
“We cannot operate on a system where people suddenly dump animals on us,” Dave Budd, deputy manager of the center, said in a press release according to The Dodo. “Our cattery is full and so are our foster spaces. Thankfully, one of our experienced members of staff looked after the cats on Saturday night.”
The little cat family still got all the care they needed to survive these critical moments. The mom, whom they named Trinity, was successfully recovering from malnutrition, as were her babies, Madison and Navey. Sadly, one kitten was not so lucky.
According to the RSPCA Coventry and District Branch Facebook post, the poor little one passed away that night. It was a very sad moment for all of them, but they simply had to move on because of the rest of the family.
On To Their New Lives
Because one of her kittens was gone forever, this mother cat became very attached to her other two babies. However, she was also very grateful to these people as her kittens were finally safe.
“She adores the kittens and rarely lets them roam far from her,” Budd said. “Madison and Navey are doing well and, although they’re nervous of people, they’re coming around slowly.”
The best of all was that the people from the shelter did everything to find a place for this little family, and they eventually succeeded. The mother and her babies were completely safe, and most importantly, they were surrounded by lots of love that helped them heal all their wounds.
They were truly on the right path, the path to complete recovery, but also to a new life in which all this would be just another bad dream.
Of course, none of this would have been possible without the big-hearted people from the shelter who helped them along the way. In the Facebook post, they also thanked all of those who followed this story and donated money, as well as offered foster places for the kittens.
Once again, it was shown that a multitude of good souls can truly change someone’s world.
